The U.S. Chamber of Commerce supports the Senate-passed infrastructure bill but not the mammoth spending package that some lawmakers and President Joe Biden are trying to tie to the infrastructure legislation. The chamber made clear its view in a statement late on Monday. It said it “fully supports” passage of the $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill, which the Senate passed about two months ago, and “adamantly opposes” the spending package, which Democrats are trying to ram through Congress using a process called reconciliation. “Prior to last Friday, it was clear that Congress could enact the infrastructure bill without enacting the reconciliation bill.
